After weathering a couple of attacks i had built the forces to counter attack and pushed him back to his capital. But, if the analysis of previous chapters is correct, Imperialism stands as a first defence of these interests: for the financial and speculative classes it means a pushing of their private businesses at the public expense, for the export manufacturers and merchants a forcible enlargement of foreign markets and a related policy of Protection. Having accustomed to how things work i went for a proper game and restarted on the 'normal' setting, the setting which, in my opinion, all games are supposed to be played on unless you want a challenge or to give your brain a rest.įirst normal game i though i was doing ok until one empire declared war on me and his allies followed suit. I played a couple of tutorial level games to get a handle on how things work but found it, obviously, very easy. Merchants play a minor role in 'Imp2' but are the only significant players in Trade Empires. I think this is the best strategy/empire builder i have played yet.
